Frankfurt am Main, January 10, 2023<\/strong> \u2013 It is not without reason that Frankfurt am Main is often referred to as the capital of data centers. A large concentration of these data storage facilities finds perfect conditions here. The world’s largest internet exchange, DE-CIX<\/a>, is a decisive factor. <\/p>

Another data center is now opening its doors in Germany’s largest data metropolis. It targets companies from various industries. In total, it offers a total capacity for up to 5,000 server systems. With its commissioning, firstcolo, the provider and service provider for data center and cloud solutions, completes the final project phase. <\/p>

“The new Datacenter R3 connects directly to the already existing AOC data center<\/a>. This provides additional capacities. It also expands the possibilities for comprehensive, high-quality data processing and for establishing redundancy concepts,” comments Jerome Evans, founder and CEO of firstcolo GmbH.
“With the now completed construction project, we are responding to the ongoing boom in the colocation market. At the same time, we continue to see great growth potential. Already 30 percent of the space was sold to future customers before commissioning.” <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Efficiency is a top priority in the colocation sector. “With capacities of up to 15 kilowatt-hours per rack, firstcolo’s new data center achieves a PUE value of 1.25,” Evans reveals. However, the energy required should not only be used as loss-free as possible, but also come from sustainable production. <\/p>

“In addition to 100 percent use of green electricity, R3 relies on modern cold aisle containment<\/a>. This strictly separates cold and warm air to avoid energy losses,” explains the expert. Cold air flows into the server rooms through a raised floor. The resulting waste heat escapes separately to the outside. <\/p>

Additional air conditioning units are thus rendered redundant. This results in space savings that can be used for further colocation racks. Thanks to modern cooling technology, operators can react appropriately and very precisely to even the smallest temperature changes.
“Datacenter R3 is also optimally prepared for potential failures. A separate emergency power generator ensures continuous operation,” Evans continues. In addition, the company aims to offer economical electricity prices to potential new customers. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Every company requires an individual strategy for internal data management. Tailored concepts can be realized in firstcolo’s new data center through competent support from idea to implementation. Direct connectivity to various cloud providers means users do not need an additional backbone network, thus benefiting from very high availability. <\/p>

Optimal network connectivity is also ensured by the exclusive use of Tier 1 carriers. Thanks to their global network presence, these bundle bandwidth across various locations. A monitoring system that is active day and night ensures optimal security for sensitive, data-processing servers. Biometric access controls ensure that only authorized personnel gain access to the data center. <\/p>

“R3 sets high standards in fire protection and security. This allows the data center to minimize risks to the maximum,” explains Evans.
