“Shared” in relation to a server means that multiple customers share the server’s resources. As a result, their web applications run on the same server alongside the applications of other users. For customers, this model is more cost-effective than renting a “dedicated” server (also called a bare metal server), as the costs for the server and its maintenance are distributed among multiple customers.
