A network is a physical connection of several computer systems or electronic devices. This enables the exchange of data and the use of shared resources (such as printers). Two computers connected to each other by a cable already form a small network. Networks enable communication between devices, whether they are in the same room or at different locations. The latter is often the case, for example, with companies that are based at different locations and whose branches can access the same corporate network (intranet) from anywhere.
Networks enable the use of a single internet connection by multiple devices. In addition, they facilitate data exchange between different end devices, as no data carriers are required for temporary storage (such as a CD-ROM or a USB stick).
