Our premium network for you: The multi-terabit backbone external connection guarantees high availability for all your applications.
The Hub of the Internet: Frankfurt am Main Node
Our network infrastructure offers high availability and security and is located just a few minutes’ walk from the world’s largest internet exchange point. To ensure the best possible connectivity to every endpoint, our traffic mix consists of Tier-1 carriers, direct connections, and internet exchanges: our customers benefit from the resulting high availability of our locations.
Through our direct connect to the world’s largest internet exchange, DE-CIX, we achieve the lowest latencies within our infrastructure. Furthermore, this enables a direct connection and optimal connectivity to over 1,000 networks. To offer our customers the best possible protection against cybercrime such as DDoS attacks, we operate a backbone with multi-terabit capacity. This allows even large-scale DDoS attacks to be mitigated without any problems.
Through our multi-terabit backbone, we can provide a much higher level of connectivity for customer racks than you may be used to from other service providers. The fully redundant backbone, combined with standard redundant uplinks for IP access, guarantees maximum availability for your infrastructure. In addition, we offer a comprehensive range of IP transit services at our points of presence. This allows you to benefit from our backbone regardless of your location. The choice of carriers plays a decisive role in the availability, bandwidth, and latency of the connection.
For the best latencies and availability, we currently operate uplinks to the following carriers.
In addition to our first-class carrier network, we operate our own DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) infrastructure throughout Frankfurt. This allows us to connect our in-house data centers with each other as well as with our external locations within Frankfurt, enabling the transport of business-critical data at high speeds and with the lowest latencies. By operating an active DWDM infrastructure, we can offer transport services between locations at a physical level of up to 400 Gbps.
To implement an adequate Data Center Interconnect (DCI), we have redundant dark fiber connections between our in-house data centers in Frankfurt am Main. As a user, you benefit from optimal connectivity and low latencies between our locations. To completely minimize the risk of failure, we have also deliberately designed the dark fiber lines to be redundant. In addition to geo-redundant backup concepts and encrypted data transmission, we can also offer you dedicated wavelengths on our DWDM equipment.
Our entire network design is completely redundant. We always maintain at least one more of every component than is necessary for productive operation. We consistently adhere to this standard so that we can react immediately if necessary and prevent downtime at all times. Furthermore, our network is not overbooked, and we do not utilize any uplink to more than 50 percent. This allows us to avoid short-term bandwidth bottlenecks. Peak times or short-term spikes are just as little of a problem as short-term expansions. Your infrastructure remains highly available with us at all times.
