As an apprentice at firstcolo, you will be integrated as a full team member from the start. You will work on practical tasks and projects, take on responsibility, and gain valuable insights into our company.

Join our team and embark on an apprenticeship that will help you grow both professionally and personally. Through a combination of theory and practice, you’ll get the best of both worlds: the practical training takes place in one of our state-of-the-art data centers, while the academic portion is delivered at the Werner-von-Siemens vocational school in Frankfurt. The apprenticeship typically lasts 3 years, but with outstanding performance or relevant prior knowledge, it can be shortened to 2.5 years.

Step by step: Our getting-to-know-you process
Want to know in advance what to expect during the selection process with us? Here you’ll find all the important information about the process.
- Have you found the right apprenticeship with us? Then send us your application, including a detailed CV, via our careers page.
- Our Match Makers will review your application within 7 days and contact you if they have any questions.
- You will receive our feedback no later than 2 weeks after applying.
- In an initial online meeting via Teams, we’ll take about 45 to 60 minutes to get to know each other. We’ll discuss the content and structure of the apprenticeship program, as well as our expectations and your goals.
- If we jointly decide to deepen our exchange, you will have the opportunity to get to know firstcolo and the team during a trial day in the next step. Additionally, you will be given a technical task to complete and take a personality test.
- If it's a "Perfect Match", we will clarify everything with the responsible Chamber of Industry and Commerce so that you receive your apprenticeship contract.
- Once the apprenticeship contract has been signed by you or your legal guardians, we will register you at the vocational school.
- If you are not yet 18 years old, our company doctor will ensure that you are medically fit for the apprenticeship with us.
- In preparation for your first day of work, you will receive an individual onboarding plan about 2 weeks before your start, covering the first weeks and months.
- This way, you'll be well-informed about what to expect.
- Your future HR colleagues are available at any time for all your questions.
- Now it can begin. Your first day awaits you with an exciting program: After a general company overview, you'll be equipped with your necessary IT.
- Afterward, you'll receive an introduction to the topics of work safety and data protection.
- The first day ends after you visit your new team once again.
- To help you get oriented quickly and have everything you need, you'll regularly meet with your manager. In these feedback sessions, you can adjust the onboarding plan if necessary and keep track of what you've already learned and where there might still be a need for training.
- From time to time, colleagues from HR will check in with you, during a walk or over a drink, to ask how you're doing.
- About two weeks before the end of your probation period, you'll have certainty that everything fits.
- A letter confirming your successful probation period is then just a mere formality!
