Ceph (pronounced /ˈsɛf/) is an open-source distributed storage solution in information technology. The core component is “RADOS” (“reliable autonomic distributed object store”), a highly scalable, distributable object, block, and file storage system that is redundant across any number of servers.
Ceph clusters use an algorithm called CRUSH (Controlled Replication Under Scalable Hashing). This ensures that all data is evenly distributed across the cluster. Additionally, the cluster nodes are able to receive data quickly. There is no central bottleneck in this system.
