Virtualisation with Proxmox Virtual Environment
Benefit from powerful, highly flexible virtualisation and cloud-hosting based on Proxmox VE: In the firstcolo data centres!
The scalable cloud-hosting solution with dedicated hardware
As one of only four official Proxmox hosting partners, we have many years of experience and direct contact with the Proxmox core developers.
Enterprise Virtualisation with Proxmox VE
As an open-source solution for enterprise virtualisation, Proxmox combines KVM hypervisor, Linux Container (LXC) as well as software-defined storage and networking capabilities on a single high-performance platform.
The central user interface also simplifies the operation of virtual machines and containers with functionalities such as a web-based CLI and "REST-like" API as well as live migration without downtime.
Elementary features of Proxmox VE
Effortless configuration with maximum security
With integrated services such as firewall, storage replication, authentication server, backup and restore, Proxmox VE reduces the complexity of your network configuration and enables secure access.
With features such as firewall macros, security groups and IP sets, Proxmox VE Firewall provides optimal protection for your virtual infrastructure. As a distributed solution, the firewall service runs on each node in your cluster. This results in complete isolation between virtual machines, while the firewall provides higher bandwidth than a centralised solution. With full IPv4 and IPv6 support, data traffic is always filtered for both protocols and your firewall regulations do not need to be maintained separately.
Virtual machines within a cluster can share a network bridge at all times. Essentially, each guest would terminate at the same switch and be able to communicate with one another. For added flexibility, Proxmox VE provides both VLANs and network aggregation. This, in turn, enables the creation of complex virtual networks within the cluster.
Role-based administration and multiple authentication sources also ensure a high level of security when accessing your cluster. In addition to a pre-integrated authentication server, Proxmox VE also supports Linux PAM, LDAP and Microsoft Active Directory. To avoid unauthorized access altogether, you can make use of two-factor authentication.
Data growth with software-defined storage
Whether local, shared, or distributed storage, the Proxmox VE software-defined storage model is extremely flexible and supports all storage technologies for Debian Linux at the block, object, and file levels.
Virtual machines in shared storage (FC, ISCSI, NFS) can be migrated with no downtime. Since all nodes in the cluster constantly have direct access to the virtual machine disk image, the data does not have to be duplicated beforehand, which speeds up migration immensely.
For object storage in Proxmox VE, we exclusively use the natively supported Ceph storage. With the Ceph RBD and CephFS interfaces, storage is integrated directly on your cluster nodes. All administration takes place via an intuitive GUI. Data is always stored in triple replication and our in-house Ceph cluster enables transfer rates of up to 2 gigabytes per second.
The Storage Replication Stack (ZFS) is probably the most advanced storage type when it comes to data replicas and snapshots. Both VM images and container data consistently run on ZFS in the backend. The Storage Replication Stack increases the availability of business-critical data without using shared storage and at the same time minimizes data loss through asynchronous replication, as well as "live snapshot backup" function.
Scale with high availability
By combining two virtualisation technologies, KVM and LXC, Proxmox VE offers you high scalability and high availability while eliminating single points of failure (SPOF) through multi-master design.
The integrated HA Manager also monitors all virtual machines and containers on the entire cluster and informs immediately in case one of the nodes fails. The central user interface also simplifies the operation of virtual machines and containers with functionalities such as web-based CLI and "REST-like" API along with live migration without downtime.

Proxmox Backup Server
The Proxmox Backup Server (PBS) is a reliable and efficient backup solution for your data. PBS offers a strong backup concept and enables a quick recovery of your data in an emergency. At the same time, PBS is easy to use. By means of encryption and a guarantee of data integrity, your data remains safe and secure.
